About the Author
Paul Yurkin is a Marine Corps veteran and former police officer who spent fifteen-and-a-half years on the force. After a welfare upbringing in the projects of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, he went on to spend four years in the Marine Corps, guarding two US presidents and serving in Desert Storm.
Yurkin earned his associate’s degree in criminal justice and is a proud father of two beautiful and wonderful girls.
His experiences as a contractor in Afghanistan are documented in his debut book, Memoirs of a Security Contractor.

Williams I enjoyed reading this book from the beginning to end as I truly wanted to know what it was like serving over there. You made it very clear of the dangers, team work, loyalty, and bravery. I always wanted to know but did not ask. For your friend Red is my son and I have always been proud of what he has done. The times you all had to go on missions was exciting to hear about. At times I felt I was there but safe because you all knew what you were doing and you were doing it for the right reasons. Thank you for writing this book.

Great first person account of life as a Security Contractor!! Well worth the money for a great read. Paul is a true warrior from the time he was a young man. We grew up in a rough neighborhood and had a choice; drugs, alcohol, welfare, or man up and choose a path out of the projects - and to a better life. Mad respect for Paul (Chuck Norris) Yurkin and all the warriors who gave so much. My prayers are for the healing of you and your family.God Bless you Brother!!

His story is so compelling, a real adventure in life. Yurkin does a great job of drawing the reader into the events, and making you care about the people. Great job Semper Fi!
