2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A hit meant for all humankind! By Erich R. Barkley Everyone on Earth can learn something from this marvelous book. There are life lessons learned from the ocean in every chapter, in addition to perfectly described daily experiences, as Katie rowed her way across the Atlantic. I would recommend it to the novice paddler, the experienced adventurer, and anyone seeking to know more about what we can do to be a better us. It sure doesn't hurt that all profit goes to help provide clean drinking water for those in need.

Hagan I enjoyed reading about Katie's Big Adventure and what drove her to even attempt such a ultra endurance test. As a marathon and ultra marathon runner I identified with what Katie was going through with her mental preparation. She was spot on by saying that the mental part of such challenge is as big or bigger than the physical. I cannot even imagine spending 70 days alone on the ocean! A 50 mile run is one thing. 3,000 miles rowing a boat is a different animal! Kudos to Katie! Thank you for the good read.
