About the Author Jajuana Smoot-Robinson was born August 20, 1988 in Laurens, SC. She was raised by her mother, Terry Smoot, and her grandmother, Mary Bluford, with the help of her aunt Kizzy Bluford and her aunt Erica Bluford. Jajuana grew up in Newberry, SC where she attended Newberry High School. She participated in track and field, basketball and student government. Jajuana was first introduced to poetry by her Uncle Brian at the age of nine. It was during this time that she discovered her love for writing and reading. Jajuana soon began journaling, posing her entries as poetry to keep others from knowing what she was writing about. It was while in high school that poetry became her way of dealing with difficult moments in life. Poetry was where she released her inner most feelings. Jajuana is now married with three children. Her hobbies include writing and spending time with her children. Jajuana works as a receptionist at a local head start center, where she enjoys greeting the parents and children. Jajuana aspires to be as great as her idol, Maya Angelou.

By Amazon Customer This book is an amazing piece of work and I would recommend it to any woman whether you feel like you've got it all figured out or whether you're struggling with life and all the emotions and trials and tribulations it can bring. This book is empowerment for all woman. Most can relate to many, if not all, of the topics in the chapters of this book and it's a great piece for black woman especially!
