She reins from the city of Calcutta in the eastern outskirts of India, but grew up in suburbia Houston where she studies Education at the University of Houston. But do not be mistaken, for Huda Bint Adnan is no tourist in the world of emotion. Her poetry bleeds the words of a soul who has travelled far across the globe, experienced much pain and suffering, and dared greatly to become something of herself. With each struggle life has thrown at her, she has endured. With each passing moment, she is a living embodiment that one can not only tame their demons, but can stand upon their shoulders and call out, “I am greater.” Each poem is cathartic in nature, yet simple in complexity. Each poem screams of emotion, yet remains subtle in its presentation. Huda has mastered the fine art of conveying her emotions in a manner succinct and in a presentation minimal. With each line read, we feel as if she’s lived amongst us.
