"An awesome read! Filled with love, tragedy, and hope for the future!" [Amazon Review]A woman fighting for what she knows to be true... Quinn Donovan has always longed for a simple life, and it seems her dream has finally come true. Living in the peaceful countryside with her husband Michael, she spends days working a job she loves and quiet nights in the arms of a man she adores. Something is not right, however. Her body. Her husband. Her memories. Everything feels off. And in a short time, the simple life she worked so hard to achieve becomes incredibly complicated. Clouded by fear for her marriage and of a once-forgotten past, Quinn fights for what she knows to be true. But there is a darkness beneath, one which lingers and builds until one day it threatens to consume everything she has and destroy any hope for a future.

Review "Another amazingly beautiful book by Jodi LaPalm!" -Amazon Review

From the Author My father was a farmer as was his father before, and the first eighteen years of my life were in the country. That land is still in our family and honored as a Century Farm, meaning it has been worked under one family for more than one-hundred years. As a girl, I spent countless hours exploring the barns and acres of fields. Cattle, hogs, horses, dogs, and cats were playmates, family.   I would never trade those moments. They are where memories of my father thrive and live on. And as he has been gone more years than I had him, I feel a connection not only to the land but also the hard-working people who care for it. Perhaps this is why I wrote about the loving landscape of my youth. Maybe my sentiment led to the creation of Quinn.   It is simplicity, the need for nothing more than a comfortable home, warm meal, and loving family that call to me. This novel is about the past, the things that make us, change us, and stop us from living and moving forward. But it is so much more. There are lessons learned from what has been and hope to be found in what might be. And in the end, the ability to believe in yourself can change everything.     ~JL

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Good Writer, bad ending By Linda Sue *********SPOILER ALERT*********************I absolutely HATED the ending of this book -- I HATED it. This woman is pregnant, beaten by her husband who supposedly didn't know what he was doing because he had a brain tumor so she forgives him and they live happily ever after without, by the way, anyone doing anything about the brain tumor because it wasn't malignant and it could just stay there awhile.Ok, I understand that it's a story of forgiveness. She can forgive him but she shouldn't have gone back to him. For crying out loud, HE TRIED TO KILL HERI I really wanted her to divorce her husband and get together with her best friend's doctor grandson. The story looked like it was leading there after our protagonist made friends with the handsome single doctor; but, NO. It should have gone there but it fell so short, terribly short.I give the author three stars because she is a good writer. I give her only three stars because her story didn't give the proper treatment for spousal abuse.
