2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Connected Chronology and Bible Understaning By JMichael Few moderns have the patience to read this book, much less write it. The author, Samuel Schuckman had such patience, and produces a volume that takes one patient bite at a time. Offhand, he connects biblical references to reasonable secular historical time-lines. In doing so, he answers searching questions about ancient pagan and modern religious beliefs. i.e., "Where did the idea of deifying Man get its credible start with brilliant ancients?" The key feature seems to be the chronological gap created by Noah's Flood, and the obviously stimulating chronology of Genesis 5, with its interlocking time-data for the first ten generations after Adam. I love it. I think a searching student of biblical records, anchored as they are by the doctrine of infallibility, drives a peg for measurable progress in historical, philosophical, spiritual, and theological knowledge. Wish we could talk about it! Have fun. I did, and I'm buying this volume pronto!
