"Skipping Rocks" is a collection of poems about life in general: The good, the bad, and the in between. Karen has fond memories from her childhood of searching for the perfect flat, smooth rock and then skipping it across the lake. If she had the right rock and held it just right, the rock would skip five maybe six times in a row. She feels that life is a lot like skipping rocks. Some days the rock will skip smoothly across the water, and other days it will go "plunk" and disappear quickly beneath the surface. Either way, don't quit skipping rocks and don't forget about Christ, the Solid Rock, who is always with us, even when all our rocks seem to be sinking straight to the bottom.

About the Author After thirty-eight years of teaching and coaching, Karen retired in 2013 and has spent the last few years actively pursuing her hobby as a writer. She is an active member of a website called FanStory where she writes and reviews writing with others from around the world. "Skipping Rocks" is a collection of her poems about life. She also enjoys writing short stories and hopes to knock out a novel someday. She enjoys reading a good book and participating in outdoor activities. Her philosophy on aging gracefully (which she learned from her mother) is to love everyone, work lots of crossword puzzles, and stay active so you don't rust."
